It gives you access to the region’s public transport network - trains, trams, buses, RER trains and the metro - thanks to an integrated pricing system. You can top up the card with various options to match your travel needs, such as a weekly, monthly or even annual travel pass. Be aware that there are different Navigo Passes to meet the needs of local residents or visitors.
Navigo Pass for Paris Region's residents
The standard Navigo Pass is designed specifically for people who live or work in the Île-de-France region. It is issued free of charge. With this pass, users can purchase various transport tickets and options available on the website at https://www.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/en/tickets-fares
Whether you’re an occasional traveller or use the network regularly but for short periods, this service is ideal for your tourism needs.

These two cards are strictly personal and cannot be used separately or by any other person. They must always be kept and presented together.
This pass can be purchased for a fee of €5, and will not be replaced in the event of loss or theft.

The pass isn’t your only way to get around
While the pass is a practical solution for using public transport in Île-de-France, there are other means too.
SMS
If you have no change on you, no worries! You can now purchase your transport ticket anywhere in Île-de-France using your smartphone. Simply send a code to 93100 to receive a text message containing a ticket, and the corresponding amount will be added directly to your mobile phone bill.
Individual tickets
If you’re not planning to use public transport regularly during your stay, then opt for individual t+ tickets. These are a simple and quick solution when you’re in a hurry and don’t have a pass. In some cases, you can purchase a set of 10 tickets.
But you can also add t+ tickets directly to your smartphone or to your contactless pass.
Île-de-France Mobilités app
You can also use the metro, RER, buses and other means of transport with tickets purchased directly via your smartphone. Whether you’re an occasional or regular traveller, or a tourist with a compatible smartphone, this service is available to you.
It enables you to top up an existing Navigo Pass with transport tickets, or to validate your ticket directly using your phone.
