Flying to and from Paris Region
With three airports to its name, Paris Region can be reached in the beat of a wing. All three have good transport links to the capital so onward travel to your destination is simply a question of choice. Between shuttle, train, bus and taxi services, you’ll find plenty of options for getting where you want to go.
Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport
The biggest airport is Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), which is also the region’s main airport. It is one of the busiest airports in Europe, handling more than 70 million passengers per year, flying to and from hundreds of destinations across the world, in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East. Here’s all the practical information you’ll need to get to or from this airport located approximately 25 kilometres to the north-east of the capital.
By public transport
RER B:
The RER B regional express train is one of the fastest ways to travel between the airport and Paris. It stops right at Terminal 2 and serves the capital’s most important stations, including Gare du Nord (TGV and TER trains, RER lines D & E, metro lines 2, 4 & 5), Châtelet-Les Halles (RER lines A & D, metro lines 1, 4, 7, 11 & 14) and Denfert-Rochereau (Orlybus shuttle and metro lines 4 & 6).- Frequency: every 6 to 15 minutes.
- Operating hours: 4.53am to 0.15am (Gare du Nord), 5.26am to 0.11am (Châtelet-Les Halles) and 5.18am to 0.03am (Denfert-Rochereau) towards the airport. From 4.50am to 11.50pm towards Paris.

Roissybus buses:
This direct bus service runs between Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Opéra metro station in the centre of Paris. You can catch it at 11 Rue Scribe in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, on the corner between Rue Scribe and Rue Auber, or from any terminal at CDG Airport (well indicated by signs at the airport). -- Journey time: 60 to 75 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Frequency: every 15 to 20 minutes.
- Operating hours: 5.15am to 0.30am towards the airport and **6am to 0.30am towards Paris.
- Fares: €16.60 per person for a printed ticket or €14.50 on the Île-de-France Mobilités app or when added to a Navigo Easy or Liberté+ pass.

Bus 350 & 351:
Bus services 350 (from Porte de la Chapelle) and 351 (from Nation) also operate to and from the airport.- Frequency: every 15 to 35 minutes.
- Operating hours: for the 350 service, 5.33am to 9.30pm towards the airport and 6.05am to 10.30pm towards Paris. For the 351, 5.33am to 8.20pm towards the airport and **7am to 21.37pm towards Paris.

Noctilien (night buses):
If you have to travel at night, the Noctilien bus services N140 & N143 also operate between Paris and the airport. TGV high-speed trains:
The TGV network operates direct trains to the airport from many regions of France, including the cities of Lyon, Lille, Strasbourg and Bordeaux. The TGV station is located at Terminal 2.
By taxi
There are several taxi ranks at Paris-Orly airport, located outside the luggage reclaim zones of each terminal.

Paris-Orly Airport
Open since 1932, Orly is one of the oldest airports in France. In fact, it was even used by the allied forces during the Second World War. There are two terminals at Paris-Orly: Orly 1-2-3, which includes the former West Terminal and part of the old South Terminal, and Orly 4 the other part of what was previously the South Terminal. From here, you can fly to destinations in Europe, Africa and French Overseas Departments and Territories. Located 14 kilometres from Paris, it is easy to reach from the capital and vice-versa.
By public transport
Metro line 14:
Very probably the fastest way to reach the capital from the airport. It runs between Saint-Denis-Pleyel station and Paris-Orly Airport, stopping at strategic points like Saint-Lazare Station (metro lines 3, 9, 12 & 13, RER E, tram lines J & L, TGV & TER (high-speed and regional express trains), Châtelet (metro lines 1, 4, 7 & 11, RER A, B & D and services to CDG Airport) and Gare de Lyon (metro line 1, RER A & D, tram line R, TGV and TER services).- Frequency: 2 to 5 minutes
- Journey time: 25 minutes from Paris centre.
- Operating hours: 5.30am to 0.33am towards the airport and 5.30am to 0.34am towards Paris.

OrlyVal and RER B:
OrlyVal is a driverless shuttle service offering free travel between terminals 1-2-3 and 4. But it also serves Antony RER station and the airport, from where you can reach Paris via line B.- Frequency: every 5 to 7 minutes.
- Journey time: allow **25 to 35 minutes to reach Paris by RER line B, in addition to the OrlyVal trip which takes 6 minutes from Terminal 1-2-3 and 8 minutes from Terminal 4.
- Operating hours: 6am to 11.35pm. RER B approximately 5am to midnight.
- Fares: €14.50 for the ****combined OrlyVal & RER B ticket. If you have a Navigo pass, you’ll only have to pay for the OrlyVal trip, which costs €11.30*.

OrlyBus :
The Orlybus shuttle service operates between Place Denfert-Rochereau in Paris (connecting with metro lines 4 & 6 and RER line B) and the airport. It stops at both Paris-Orly bus stations, stop C2 for Terminal 1-2-3 and stop 5 for Terminal 4.- Journey time: 30 minutes
- Frequency: every 10 to 15 minutes.

Bus service 183:
Bus service 183 connects Paris-Orly to Rungis, stopping at strategic points like Choisy-le-Roi (RER C) or Gaston Viens and Général Leclerc (tram line T9). It serves both terminals, with stops at exit 48a - stop 4 for Orly 4, and at Platform B1 for Orly 1-2-3.- Journey time: 12 minutes for Gaston Viens (connecting with tram line T9) and 30 minutes for Choisy-le-Roi (connecting with RER line C).
- Frequency: every 5 to 7 minutes.

Tram line 7:
The tram is another way of reaching the airport from Paris and the surrounding area or vice-versa. It runs between Villejuif-Louis Aragon (end of the Paris Metro line 7) and Athis-Mons (Porte de l’Essonne), passing via Terminal 4 of Paris-Orly Airport (stopping at exit 47d). It also stops at Cœur d’Orly where the airport hotels are located, and Rungis-La Fraternelle where you can take the RER C train to Paris.- Journey time: approximately 80 minutes to reach Paris on tram line T7 or metro line 7 (45 minutes to reach Villejuif).

Paris-Beauvais-Tillé Airport
Paris-Beauvais-Tillé Airport is located about 85 kilometres to the north of Paris. This airport is used mainly by Ryanair, Wizz Air, Volotea and other low-cost airlines flying to multiple destinations across Europe and around the Mediterranean. Although smaller than the other Parisian airports, it is used by millions of travellers each year.
By public transport
Paris-Beauvais Aerobus shuttle service:
The Aerobus shuttle is the most practical way to travel between Paris and Beauvais Airport. Line A01 runs directly from the airport to Porte Maillot metro station in Paris (metro line 1 and RER line C). But other services also operate between the airport and iconic sites like La Défense (A03) and Disneyland Paris (A05).- Journey time: 1¼ to 1½ hours to reach the end of the A01 line, depending on traffic.
- Operating hours: approximately 20 minutes after each flight arrival, from the bus station located between Terminals 1 & 2. From Paris, the shuttle service leaves 3 hours before the flight departure time.
- Fares: €16.90 for a one-way trip. Tickets can be purchased online, at the airport, or at Porte Maillot metro station. Tickets are valid for 1 year from date of purchase whichever the direction of travel.

Trains & Buses:
Another option for travelling to the airport is to catch a train to Beauvais station, then a local bus to the airport, and vice-versa. SNCF trains operate between the Paris station Gare du Nord and Beauvais.- Journey time: approximately 70 minutes by train and 15 to 20 minutes by ****bus line 6.

Montparnasse Station
Located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, Montparnasse Station is one of the capital’s main rail hubs. It serves mainly the west and southwest regions of France, with high-speed TGV trains operating to cities such as Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes and Toulouse. It is also from this station that the Intercity and **regional express trains (TER) leave for those regions.

Gare du Nord
Located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Gare du Nord happens to be the biggest station in the capital, and one of the busiest in the world. This station is the end of the line for Eurostar and Thalys trains, with onward connections to London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Cologne. It also serves the north of France with TGV and TER services to Lille and Calais, among others.

Massy TGV Station
Massy TGV Station in the south suburb of Paris is a departure point for high-speed train services to the west and southwest of France. It is frequently used by travellers who choose to avoid the major Parisian stations. This station is also connected to the RER network, for easy access to Paris:
- RER: Lines B & C serving the nearby Massy-Palaiseau station
- Buses: lines 119, 196, 199, 319, 399 & P24-05 all serve Massy-Palaiseau.
