Forget the map and let the song of nature guide you! Montmorency boasts the very first augmented-reality forest walk in Europe a unique experience lasting more than an hour. Although this department is mostly urban, it still has quite a few nature spots waiting to be explored. This app featuring 20 suggested routes is suitable for all and offers an alternative look at the Hauts-de-Seine department. All you have to do is take a photo of the monument or artwork in question and listen to the corresponding audioguide extract of 30 seconds to 1½ minutes. With the 450 descriptions available, you should be able to quench your thirst for culture. This app has been such a success that other cities of France have adopted the same idea.
Culture and crowds
No longer must you live in fear of never-ending queues at swimming pools, town halls or museums. The modestly-named Affluences app has a simple but ambitious goal: to provide information on waiting times at cultural sites and tourist attractions that’s as easy to find as the weather forecast. For now, this real-time database is available only in Paris Region.
