Description
The free Val d’Oise MyBalade app is a new way of exploring the Val d’Oise département, north-west of Paris. Armed with your smartphone or tablet, set off on an adventure on the roads and paths of the Val d’Oise and discover its rich cultural and natural heritage.
Whether you are in the mood for a walk, a bike ride or horse ride, make your choice from the 130 circuits available on the app and the website. For the sportiest among you, there are even trail running circuits! Along the way, there are some 2,600 places to discover: châteaux, churches, wash houses, archaeological sites, natural spaces, and remarkable parks and gardens such as Ambleville, Royaumont Abbey and the Archéa museum. Everyone should be able to find a walk that is to their liking. You can also make your choice by geographical area and, handily enough, you can save your favourite circuits.
Along the way, a sound will alert you when you are close to a site of interest. The app will then give you a short description of the place and sometimes the chance to explore it through augmented reality !
On the practical front, the app stops you getting lost thanks to the GPS feature, and gives you access to all the information and services you might need (shops, accommodation, restaurants). You can also check the calendar of events happening in the Val d’Oise, including the Nature Outings organised by the département.
