Description
Sat on top of Saint-Cloud hill overlooking western Paris, the Saint-Cloud racecourse enjoys stunning panoramic views of the French capital. Also known as the Hippodrome du Val d’Or, this galloping, left-handed grass track measures 2,300 metres in length, and is one of the newest tracks in Paris and the surrounding region. It is a fair, relatively flat course, and has become a firm favourite for pro riders!
The grandstands, rebuilt in the 1950s to be more functional than their predecessors, have gradually become part of this green and peaceful setting just outside Paris** and Boulogne, which has an inimitable charm, with its golf course at the centre of the pistes, the incredible buildings of the former Fouilleuse facilities, now the Paris Country-Club, and these brick structures that are reminiscent of the Trente Glorieuses.
A day at the races
Come and experience the thrill of the chase with friends or family all year round, and cheer on the horses and jockeys from the stands or trackside! In the summer, enjoy a day out in the fresh air with a picnic and lunch on-the-go, or share a delicious meal at the Val d’Or restaurant, complete with panoramic views so you don’t miss a moment. The horses burst from the stalls, start to gallop, and the tension is palpable. Who will cross the finish line first!
