Description
It would be impossible to list every detail in the storied career of Philippe Conticini who, since the late 1980s, has left his mark both as chef (heading up several renowned restaurants) and as pastry chef, in France and abroad (New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and more).
He was also the originator of the recent worldwide craze for verrines, or desserts-in-a-glass. A new act in 2018: the gifted chef decided to don his desserts cap by opening Gâteaux d’émotions, not far from the Rodin Museum, a one-of-a-kind pastry shop that is all about culinary delight.
The selection emphasises all the wondrous aspects of sweet delicacies: generous portions, textures from crunchy to creamy, bold aromas, and brilliant ideas that reinterpret and heighten the taste of some of the greatest classics (viennoiseries, cream puffs, fruit or chocolate tarts, and many other desserts). Prepare to be moved…
Philippe Conticini's sweet treats can also be found at Galeries Lafayette Gourmet.
And his latest new in 2021 is in his shop in the 3rd arrondissement at 31 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth, where a chouquette bar has opened for the pleasure of your taste buds. Whatever your preference, have a go at the vanilla, chocolate, lemon or coffee flavoured pastry cream which will garnish your choux made on the spot by the chef himself and Laetitia Di Leta, his assistant.
