Description
The large bay windows overlooking the garden create a contemporary atmosphere in harmony with its surroundings. On the first floor of the restaurant Palais Royal, the two private lounges plunge you into the world of a Parisian flat, ideal for confidential lunches and intimate evenings "just like at home". When the weather permits, the terrace is transformed to host lunches and dinners in the heart of the garden. Chef Philip Chronopoulos offers a precise cuisine full of emotion, which reproduces in the plate all the beauty of nature, where pleasure comes first.
The decoration was entrusted to Christophe Tollemer, who has worked on numerous projects, notably in France and New York. The tone is set as soon as you enter. The welcome is made through a lobby that crosses between the rue de Valois and the Galerie de Valois, decorated with important works by the artist Pierre Roy-Camille that create a link with the garden of the Palais Royal. These works become the main thread of the place's identity. The other part of this hall is vaulted in the same black and white. Inside the restaurant, the arches echo those that punctuate the galleries, the pilasters, the base and the mural stones that make up the identity of this historic place. On the floor, the continuity is again played out with a stone and a layout identical to that of the gallery. The ceiling is contemporary: matt black and luminous cornices. The ends of the two rooms on the ground floor highlight the artist's works.
P h i l i p Chronopoulos, a young, dynamic and passionate Greek chef of 32 years of age, distinguished himself by his successful experiences in prestigious establishments before taking over the kitchens of the Palais Royal Restaurant. While working with Alain Passard's team at L'Arpège, he discovered the love of the product and the secrets of an author's cuisine. His unforgettable journeys with the three-starred chef allowed him to approach cooking from a new angle.
For the Palais Royal Restaurant, he has created a menu that pays tribute to French cuisine without forgetting its original influences. He returns to the authentic and places the product at the centre of all his attentions. Through his work on flavours, textures and fragrances, the Chef is inspired by the seasons and imagines a play of textures and colours without ever compromising on taste and delicacy.
As soon as the weather is fine, the terrace hosts the musical meeting "Les Jeudis Jazz". During these exceptional summer evenings, the Jardin du Palais-Royal vibrates to the sound of gypsy jazz guitars and double basses and allows aficionados to enjoy a musical and gustatory experience.
