Description
Covering two floors, under the glass roof and garlands of Passage Jouffroy, a romantic 19th century mall near the musée Grévin, Pain d’Epices offers all the timeless charm of a shop from bygone days. The front of the shop and the large, illuminated windows are sure to delight onlookers with their profusion of toys and soft toys beautifully displayed all year round.
Pain d’épices, toys by the thousand
Under the old-fashioned woodwork, on the retro displays, you’ll find a rattan or wicker pram, a rocking horse, wooden bead bracelets, night lights and music boxes, mobiles, puppet theatres and dolls guaranteed to get your children’s eyes sparkling. You can also find a wealth of old-fashioned toys and small gadgets for all ages, all occasions and all budgets.
The upper level, with its authentic creaky parquet floor, offers a wide and rich selection of fancy dress costumes and accessories for princesses, pirates and budding Formula 1 drivers. Puzzles, card and board games, wooden musical instruments as well as balls of wool for making carded wool items and embroidery kits invite you to try your hand at recreational activities. In a small alcove, the soft toys and collectible teddy bears of all kinds seem to be waiting patiently for you. Will you adopt the big teddy bear or will you instead be won over by the charm of a mischievous little mouse?
