Description

Eurostar passengers arriving from London, Brussels or Amsterdam, take note! Just a stone’s throw from the Gare du Nord is a hidden gem. Les Arlots is a traditional bistro that encapsulates the very soul of Paris and offers the perfect place to immerse yourself in the indescribable ambiance of the French capital.

With its wooden bar and tables, 1950s tiling, and walls lined with bottles of wine, the décor is reminiscent of a post-war film noir movie. Why change a winning formula? That is the motto of chef Thomas Brachet, a former DJ trained in the arts of haute cuisine, whose eatery honours the timeless recipes of French grandmothers – recipes as fresh today as they ever were.

Chicken pâté en croûte, beef cheek confit with Merlot and vegetables, cheese platters, apricot clafoutis, cinnamon and orange rice pudding… the specials board, based on what has been found at the market each day, is very much in keeping with the “bistronomy” trend, which aims to prove that traditional bistro dishes can be culinary masterpieces in their own right. Taste and generosity abound!
