Description

An iconic restaurant

Built on the occasion of the 1900 Universal Exhibition** and with two large rooms classified as historical monuments, the Train Bleu is a must-see address in Paris. A true national institution, it is both a luxury brasserie and a gastronomic restaurant. A great monument of architecture and decorative arts, it will amaze you from the moment you enter with its exceptional frescoes from wall to ceiling, its gilding and mouldings, its immense crystal chandeliers and its 8-metre high ceilings.

Located on the first floor of the Gare de Lyon, it is the joyau de la Belle Epoque, which in its time attracted the great names of the art world such as Coco Chanel, Jean Cocteau or even Dali.

Today, it is still a success with 500 covers served every day. Le Train Bleu offers a show both in the dining room and in the kitchen! With French starred chef Michel Rostang at the helm, the excellence of French cuisine is on the menu.

An emblematic menu

The great chef Michel Rostang is known for his love of good produce and his respect for seasonal cuisine. Regional products from the south-east**, a region crossed by the Paris-Lyon-Marseille line, are promoted. In the dining room, everything is thought out to sublimate this cuisine, with cuts and flambéing in front of your eyes for an absolutely unique show.

The emblematic recipes are revisited but the great classics are still there, from the tartar prepared at your table, to the grilled sole and sauce vierge, not forgetting the leg of lamb and its gratin dauphinois, the crêpes Suzette flambéed with Grand Marnier and of course the unmissable Baba au rhum. The famous two-starred chef has also added his own specialities such as Bresse poultry with fresh tarragon cream accompanied by grilled basmati rice.
A beautiful selection of wines completes the menu to compliment each dish perfectly.

In addition to the restaurant's two large, listed rooms, Le Train Bleu offers a bar area, consisting of several small, luxuriously decorated lounges.

The Train Bleu Bar Lounge offers an elegant break in a sparkling decor worthy of the most beautiful Parisian monuments. The ideal place for a relaxing moment, whether between two trains, while waiting for your loved ones to arrive, with friends, or with colleagues for a business meeting… Discover a wide selection of exceptional teas and coffees, fresh fruit juices, wines by the glass, spirits, cocktails and other champagnes, accompanied by numerous pastries.

Every day, le Bar du Train Bleu welcomes you from 7:30 am for a delicious breakfast served until 11:00 am. You can also order snacks, salads, club sandwiches and pastries…

Starred, trendy and traditional restaurants, exceptional pastry chefs and chocolate makers, culinary workshops… discover the best of French gastronomy !
