Description
Located just a stone’s throw from the Opéra de Paris and the major department stores on Boulevard Haussmann, the Grand Café Capucines, opened in 1875 and is one of the oldest brasseries in Paris.
After being taken over by Olivier Bertrand, a top professional in the restaurant business and head of a host of remarkable Parisian restaurants, this famous brasserie has been given a new lease of life and is once again a must-see attraction.
An authentic Parisian brasserie
The interior of this historic establishment has been redesigned by the Toro & Liautard studio, which has succeeded in creating a warm and friendly atmosphere, with gilded brass covering the large columns in a dining room revamped in a more contemporary style, with benches covered in red-orange or blue fabrics, and black tables encircled with gilded metal.
The terrace, which runs along the entire front of the restaurant, has been cleverly redesigned in the spirit of a winter garden, with a profusion of green plants, Gatti tables and rattan chairs.
A pleasant setting, perfect for a gourmet break at any time of the day or night, catering to all appetites thanks to its generous menu.
A typically French menu!
Start your meal with seafood, as the menu offers a wide choice of fresh oysters, shellfish from the best origins, which can be used to create superb seafood platters… unless you and another guest decide to share the generous tasting platter, with salmon and tuna tartars, crab, marinated sea bream, whelks, shrimps and oysters.
With such an extensive menu, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to continuing your meal. Diners will enjoy the fresh products, perfect cooking, well-mastered flavours, not forgetting the warm welcome and attentiveness essential to any unforgettable moment. A real treat!
Traditional pastries always take centre stage. The chocolate profiteroles, pancakes flambéed with Grand Marnier or Rum Babas are guaranteed to get food lovers’ mouths watering. Nevertheless, don’t hesitate to try more modern desserts such as the Pavlova with red fruit or the house special ice cream sundaes.
A not-to-be-missed Parisian eatery, well worth a visit for a good lunch with friends or family.
