Description

The Maison Ladurée is much more than just a luxury patisserie. Originally located on Rue Royale in Paris, it was the creator of French-style tearooms and Parisian macarons. The delicate, pastel-coloured petit fours, to eat in, take away or order for another day, are among the delights that give visitors a taste of the art of luxury living, not forgetting the deliciously flavoured teas and the pastries that are absolutely spot-on. An establishment keeping up with the times since 1862.

A story of tradition and expertise

It all began with a simple bakery in the Madeleine district, occupied by the artisans of luxury. It was here that Louis-Ernest Ladurée first set up his shop which, a few years later, would become the Ladurée patisserie. It wasn’t until many years later that the two-layer macaron emerged along with the French-style tearoom. A savoir-faire passed down through generations and raised to the status of an art. Every pastry chef is an expert with a passion and the pride of keeping alive the firm’s traditions while innovating with modern techniques.

Memorable décors

To step inside a Ladurée shop is to enter a place of beauty where elegance and self-indulgence go hand in hand, such as the Champs-Élysées tea room which opened in 1997. Decorated with the famous logo, the elegant boxes of macarons become ornamental items. The subdued and inviting atmosphere of the tearooms makes them ideal for sharing a moment of togetherness with a cup of tea and a sweet treat.

Ladurée Coffee Shop: the new takeaway tearoom

The Maison Ladurée isn’t entirely rooted in the past. It constantly evolves, adjusting to the latest trends while preserving its legacy. Located a stone’s throw from the Luxembourg garden in Paris, the brand has risen to the new challenge of creating a takeaway coffee shop. This latest response to the modern needs of gourmets on the go offers a deliciously sophisticated break against the traditional backdrop of the Maison Ladurée in all its authenticity.

In addition to the brand’s macarons and other inevitable sweet treats, this new concept also comes with a few novelties. The signature latte is inspired by the firm’s iconic pastries, such as the famous Ispahan. Not forgetting the ‘finger pastries’ and ‘finger sandwiches’, sweet and savoury delights that make the perfect snack at any time of day. A recommended address on Place Edmond Rostand.
