Description
On the 3rd floor of the Bourse de Commerce - Pinault collection, chefs Michel and Sébastien Bras invite museum visitors and others to discover a cuisine of the essential in accordance with the place. Named la Halle aux grains, this restaurant is in perfect harmony with the history of the building built in 1763 and dedicated to the trade of wheat and other cereals or pulses.
An exceptional place in the heart of Paris
It is via two majestic staircases that the Halle aux grains is discovered. The long glass roof illuminates the room and from your table you can admire the rotunda, the heart of the historic building restored and magnified by the architect Tadao Ando, and its fabulous painted decor which unfolds at 360 degrees. It also offers an incredible view of Paris that skims the Saint-Eustache church, flies over the Canopée des Halles and wanders towards the Centre Pompidou and the roofs of the Capital.
History and contemporary art blend together in this masterful place!
The interior designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec has a soft and comfortable atmosphere that combines natural materials such as cotton, linen and wool, and raw materials such as wrought iron, glass and metal. The furniture, combine elegance and intimacy and give the Parisian restaurant a real identity.
A three-star table
This table, orchestrated by Michel and Sébastien Bras, father and son triple starred, breathes new life into a cuisine based on cereals. Dishes in which grains, seeds, seeds from all countries and all families, bring a rich and incomparable taste. Sprouted, grilled, puffed, infused, fermented and cooked in a thousand ways, the grain brightens up a vegetable, awakens a dessert or a juice, and stimulates a healthy and simple cuisine of its time.
The wine list is just as original and exclusive! The objective was to create unique cuvées with the complicity of the winemakers met during a trip through France. This meeting made it possible to build the "Cuvées de grains", a new list of bottles from thirty reasoned, tasty, identity and uninhibited cuvées. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc or Negrette are to be consumed in all simplicity as a tribute to the sincerity of those who created them.
Open every day from noon to midnight, lunch, the gourmet break and dinner are gustatory moments that evolve with the sunlight. From dawn to dusk, the circular glass roof gives a glimpse of a different atmosphere depending on the time of day. Three moments during which the gastronomic proposals vary with a menu in three sequences for lunch, a sweet and savoury menu to accompany your tea and the privilege of a discovery menu for dinner.
The Restaurant-Café la Halle aux grains has a strong personality, both in spirit and in the way the space and its table are designed.
