Griffon
Description
Head through the big metal gates of the Crédit Municipal building on rue des Francs-Bourgeois to discover Griffon, the progressive, cultural café-bar where we love to take a coffee, have a meal, work, chat, have a drink and enjoy some great company.
It is a welcoming place with a cheerful decor that teems with bric-a-brac, giving it the feel of a den or a cabinet of curiosities, the ideal place to get together and relax.
Settled in the deep cosy armchairs or around one of the big wooden tables, indulge in a selection of dishes concocted by cheffe Magdalena Chatenet, with ceviche, spreads, salads, platters and sweet treats carefully crafted from fresh produce.
The drinks menu is also a delight with coffee from a Parisian roasting company, a stunning selection of cocktails and natural wines, and teas of every flavour.
Griffon also has a hidden terrace where you can enjoy a drink with friends, hear live music or take part in a citizens’ debate. And this terrace has its own little tale to tell. Tucked away in Cour Théophraste Renaudot, it harbours some historical remains – most notably the traces of the medieval city walls of Paris, built under Philippe-Auguste.
Fashioned by Renaud Barillet and Fabrice Martinez, the names behind La Bellevilloise and Dock B, Griffon is decidedly THE place to gather right now – a real melting pot where you can hang out, all year round.
