1924. Exactly 100 years ago, the City of Light was filled with the excitement of the Olympic Games. This summer, the Olympic flame will shine again over Paris Region, putting sport back under the spotlight on the world stage. The capital city and the surrounding area are to host competitions for the Olympic & Paralympic Games in prestigious settings such as the Invalides district and the Palace of Versailles.

This year, Paris Region’s cultural scene will be buzzing with the spirit of the Olympic Games, through the Cultural Olympiad programme. The region’s culture venues invite you to take a look at sport from a different angle. Walks on the theme of art or history, and trips to the theatre offer a multidisciplinary approach that will appeal to all audiences, from culture buffs to seasoned athletes.
