Description
Why choose between a holiday at the beach and a Parisian getaway when you can have both? Every year, Paris iinvites you to enjoy a unique summer along its waterways. Paris Plages 2024, the place to be!
Despite the fact that 2024 will be marked by the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, Paris Plage is back from 6 July to 8 September.
First, the city centre. As every year, Paris Plages takes pride of place along the banks of the Seine classified as world heritage by Unesco, between the Garden of Tuileries and the Sully bridge on the right bank, and it is the ultimate invitation to relax: bask in the sun on a comfortable deckchair with a refreshing drink in one hand and a delicious ice cream in the other, while cooling off under the water misters. Also on the agenda is a variety of activities, such as tai chi sessions, table football, giant board games, and boules. During the hot weather, giant foggers allow you to cool down a little. Numerous catering areas are also provided to satisfy all the desires of the gourmets.
For more summer festivities, head to the Bassin de la Villette in the northeast of Paris. Have a go at some kayaking, enjoy outdoor activities include kayaking, energy arts, bowling and foosball. Children are not forgotten with activities just for them and everything is planned to have a drink or a meal.
The highlight of Paris Plages: the outdoor swimming pool! Free and supervised swimming area is installed on a floating structure directly on the canal. 3 zones welcome you, including a paddling pool for the little ones, a small bath of 1.20 meters deep for children and another of 2 meters for confirmed swimmers. Due to the sanitary situation, the access to the pools is done on 4 slots allowing you to enjoy the swimming and the solarium. You want more ? Go to the zip line passing over the water. Unusual experiences guaranteed.
Feel like a trip on the canal? Book your electric boat with Marin d’eau douce and discover the quays of the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal de l'Ourcq between effervescence and street art.
So spend the summer in the Paris Region – it’s sublime!
