The Puss in Boots castle

In the heart of the Chevreuse Valley, you’ll find the chateau de Breteuil. The Breteuil family, one of the most famous in France, have been the owners of this huge property for several generations. The current building built from white stone with pink bricks dates from the 17th century but if you look carefully you’ll occasionally spot remains from the original castle such as the dovecote, which has escaped the ravages of time.

Enchanted Stories

Young and old alike will travel through the history of Europe through the story of the Breteuil family, and enjoy a visit to a richly furnished residence brought to life with wax figures from the Grévin Museum. While parents can admire the clothing and costumes, the kids will be delighted with reproductions of Cinderella, Little and Riding Hood, Hop-o'-My-Thumb,Bluebeard and other heroes from Perrault’s fairy tales, to be found in the chateau and its outbuildings.

Extend your visit by exploring the magnificent gardens and the 75-hectare park. You’ll almost certainly meet Donkeyskin along the way… And after admiring the ducks on the romantic ponds and the white fallow deer in the moat, it’s time to lose yourself in the giant maze produced from 1000 box treesMother Goose can be found in the central pavilion.

An amazing and spellbinding visit for the whole family.
