Description

*New in 2024 - As the Olympic Games come to the Château de Versailles, The Magic of Drones takes over the Royal Gardens for a memorable experience!
Immerse yourself in a flamboyant walk through the groves and fountains, before experiencing a sensational final show choreographed by more than 500 drones.

On a mild summer evening, you can admire, as Louis XIV did in his time, the beauty of the gardens of Versailles, the groves that are open to the public for this special event, and pools bathed in water and light, to the sound of baroque music by Lully, Charpentier and Rameau.

An extraordinary evening in the gardens of the Sun King

From the Grande Perspective with its elegantly lit statues, topiary and pools, to the beautifully restored Latona Fountain, from the Ballroom Grove illuminated by thousands of candles to Apollo’s Bath Grove and its Grotto of Thetis, from the Grove of the Three Fountains with its rockeries and shells to the Water Theatre and its contemporary sculpture-fountains designed by Jean-Michel Othoniel… this walk is interspersed with surprises and wonders. Your steps will also take you to the Neptune Fountain, the largest fountain in the gardens, with its sculpted decoration glorifying the god of the sea.

To conclude this special evening, the Groupe F pyrotechnicians, true pyrotechnical magicians whose talent is recognised worldwide, take over the Grand Canal and the Grande Perspective to present a positively regal fireworks experience.

If you want to experience this special evening with full peace of mind, the Palace offers a priority ticket including dedicated parking, direct access to the garden via the Neptune Gate from 7.45 pm and a glass of champagne before the tour.

An intimate insight into the Sun King

The Marly machine located in Bougival, not far from the Palace of Versailles, was a huge device built to pump water from the Seine as a water supply for the gardens of the Château de Marly, where Louis XIV liked to escape in complete privacy, as well as for the grounds and fountains of Versailles. A real technological feat that the Domaine Royal de Marly museum brings to life through its collections.
