Description

Barbizon, cradle of the painting movement of the same name, perpetuates its calling with this open-air museum in the footsteps of the landscape painters of the 19th century.

Along the Grande Rue and adjoining streets, in the creative spaces or in artists' residences, 20 original mosaics from Venice interpret the major paintings of Jean-François Millet, Jean-Baptiste Corot, Théodore Rousseau and more, inviting you to a "colourful" pictorial initiation.

A beautiful contemporary homage to landscape painters and a bucolic walk in the heart of the village, from the plain of Millet's Angelus to the edge of the Fontainebleau forest where the Painter's Path begins!
