Description

Hear ye! Hear ye, brave visitors! History buffs and fans of the medieval era are invited to Provins from 29 March to 2 November 2025 to experience full-scale, open-air hunts with birds of prey as practised by the great lords in the days of the knights.

The art of Falconry with horses

Inside the ramparts of the famous medieval city, discover the world of this ancestral practice, which consists of hunting animals with the help of trained birds of prey. Practised by communities all over the world and passed down from generation to generation, hunting with birds of prey became a true way of life for nomads in Central Asia and the Middle East, and was at its peak in France during the Middle Ages. The falconers and professional horsemen of the Vol Libre company will reveal the secrets of this custom.

Free-flying birds of prey

Applaud the beauty and grace of eagles, buzzards and kites as they soar overhead. Admire the agility and speed of hawks and the gliding of vultures, not forgetting the gentle flight of the owls. In total, the Provins aviary, one of the largest in France, houses no fewer than 80 birds of 20 different species. After the performance, you are invited to meet these majestic birds of day and night, most of which are protected, born in the Sté Vol Libre breeding center.. Young and old alike will be dazzled and delighted for over 45 minutes

And for even more fun, there's also the Legend of the Knights. A family outing not to be missed in the Paris Region!

Provins classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site
