Sunset - Sunside

Set on the jazz artery of the Rue des Lombards, Sunset-Sunside has become one of the capital’s main and most active jazz clubs. Drawing inspiration from its New York counterparts, the Sunset-Sunrise has, since 1983, stood as a proud replacement for some of Paris’s lost Left Bank clubs.

In the upstairs section, at street level, is the Sunside, with its brick walls, soft lighting and vintage furnishings. Here, the focus is on acoustic jazz and current trends: mixing the cream of the French jazz scene with newcomers from the United States. Downstairs, vaulted and tiled like the Paris metro, the Sunset is all about electric jazz, with a penchant for fusion and groove. With its friendly staff and a small selection of discs available for purchase at the entrance, the club’s vibe is warm and welcoming.
