Description

The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris offers a unique opportunity to visit the city in a different way. Intensely, passionately, create an unforgettable memory, achieve a great performance, make Paris your own, by participating in one of the most intense races and one of the most important marathons in the world.

Over the legendary distance of 42.195 km, nearly 145 nationalities and 60,000 runners come to compete in the most mythical event in athletics.

Usually held in April, this crossing of Paris, from the Champs Elysées to the Avenue Foch via the bois de Vincennes and Boulogne, offers a unique setting with a wide range of events, each more popular than the last.

The "Salon du Running", Porte de Versailles, which precedes the Marathon by 3 days, has also become a "must-attend" event, bringing together more than 80,000 visitors with over 200 running professionals. Soak up the atmosphere of the race at the Parc des expositions, collect your number and prepare for this year's or next year's marathon by asking the professionals and equipping yourself with the best equipment.

And to prepare yourself even more, discover the marathon objective podcasts on the official website, a new event dedicated to the preparation of the Schneider Electric Paris Marathon.

The personal challenge is combined with the discovery of the city. The sportsmen and women hit the streets and squares of the capital: at the foot of the Arc de triomphe, the participants start by running down the Champs-Elysées, towards Concorde. The rue de Rivoli then takes them to the Opéra Garnier, the place de la Bastille, and after a stay in the bois de Vincennes, the difficulty of the return journey will be softened by the views of the cathedral Notre-Dame, and then the Eiffel tower.

Each year, this sequence attracts more and more tourist-athletes: there are nearly 23,000 foreigners, i.e. about 40% of the peloton, who are faithful to the event. Like them, don't hesitate to try this unique way of discovering one of the most beautiful cities in the world! A personal challenge on the asphalt of the capital for a course that is always more attractive. Whether you're a Parisian or from elsewhere, take your place on the starting line!

And since your weekend is not just about running, it's a unique opportunity to discover Paris, the city, its monuments, its museums, its shows, during a cruise on the Seine or a dinner show at the Moulin Rouge. And beyond the centre, activities are also a must, with a family day out at Disneyland Paris or a trip to the château de Versailles in the footsteps of Louis XIV… Places steeped in history on the run, but not the only one!
