Description

So you think you know Paris? The Pavillon de l’Arsenal is about to teach you a whole lot more. The urban planning and architecture exhibition centre will lead you through the developments that have shaped *Paris and its suburbs, through video interviews with architects, models, and animated films.

In a vast, open-plan space on the ground floor, you’ll discover all the different sides to the city. The first floor is home to a temporary exhibition that changes every three months and explores innovative themes such as “Paris through houses” and “30 sustainable architecture projects”. On the second floor, architecture goes international, with current galleries exploring urban planning all over the world.

Through its multimedia exhibitions, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal asks the questions that lie at the very heart of urban planning: where does nature fit into this? Which lifestyles work in which spaces? What comes first: office blocks or housing? By looking beyond Paris at the bigger picture, though, the real question is actually the relationship between the city, and city living.
