Paradox Museum Paris
Description
Have you ever come across one of those videos on the Internet that completely blows your mind? As of now, you are able to enjoy this kind of entertainment not on a screen, but in reality. A biased, deconstructed, deceptive reality, full of surprises!
Expect the unexpected
The museum is built around an immersive tour full of optical illusions and other visual lures. The premises cover more than 1,700 m2 where the decorations are as surprising as the interactive animations. To discover every corner of the museum, allow about 1.5 hours.
In the tunnel paradox experiment, your notion of gravity is destabilized. Moving forward a few metres becomes a mission impossible. In the library, each book hides an illusion. It's up to you to discover them all or to give your mind a break. Through a game of mirrors, another of the experiments turns your head into the main course for a supernatural dinner.
Have you ever dreamt of meeting the invisible man? The Paradox Museum offers something better. Become invisible! No cloak and dagger required, just a long jacket.
Be prepared, because these examples are just a taste of the 90 experiences that the Paradox Museum has in store for you. Of these, 15 were designed exclusively for the Paris museum.
Paradoxes created by science
In addition to the playful and surprising aspects of the experiments, the museum integrates scientific concepts into the visit. And perhaps you will have to go back to the more or less hazy memories of your physics and maths lessons. And yes! Without science, these paradoxes could not be conceived. Each workshop is therefore meant to be educational by explaining the principle and mechanism of the illusion.
For the most Cartesian minds, the challenge is on. So go to the Paradox Museum, near the Palais Garnier and the Galeries Lafayette, to literally make your head spin.
