Description

The Palais Galliera is undoubtedly THE sanctuary of fashion in Paris.

Built at the end of the 19th century by the architect Léon Ginain for the Duchess of Galliera, in the Beaux-Arts style, it is worth visiting just to admire the Beaux-Arts style and linger in the exquisite gardens this little architectural gem near the Trocadero.

### More than 250,000 items of clothing and accessories in an original exhibition

Until recently, the Palais Galliera had only been open for temporary exhibitions. Its collection of over 250,000 priceless items of clothing and accessories is now being unveiled in a new permanent display never before seen in France. Masterpieces and little-known pieces from the Palais Galliera's reserves will highlight the evolution of fashion over more than three centuries and the transformations of the silhouette - from the flying dress of the 1730s to the avant-garde creations of Comme des Garçons. In refined rooms with high painted ceilings and parquet floors that creak underfoot, as well as in the Gabrielle Chanel rooms in the basement of the palace, the entire history of fashion and French chic over several centuries has been brought to life.

Fashion in exhibitions

Exhibitions devoted to the colourful dresses and intimacy of Frida Kahlo. the extravagant wardrobe of the singer Dalida or that of the elegant Countess Greffulhe who inspired Marcel Proust, retrospectives celebrating the couture of the 1950s or the houses of Lanvin, Dior and Chanel … The Musée Galliera lives to the rhythm of exciting temporary monographic** exhibitions - great names in couture, fashion personalities - or thematic** - periods, types of clothing, influence - which always create an event.

"Les Petites Mains", the Palais Galliera's seasonal restaurant

With the arrival of warmer days, weather permitting, the restaurant "Les Petites Mains " located in the garden, on the west side of the peristyle, offers you a pleasant gourmet break before or after your visit to the museum. A simple and elegant cuisine to brighten up your day, from lunch to sunset, including tea time. New this year, Les Petites Mains is offering a new evening and experience in the heart of the Galliera gardens: the dinner in front of the Eiffel Tower.
