Description
A pineapple, a moustache, a Normandy camembert, a weeping cloud, a diplodocus, a blue lobster or a cactus? Difficult to choose from such a plethora of pretty patterns… Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy, friends since they studied together at the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle de Paris, made an inspired choice when they decided they wanted to bring embroidery back into vogue.
Their aim? To create brooches and badges that could be used to customise the lapel of a jacket or a blouse, or even as a kind of arty band-aid to cover a hole in a cashmere sweater or a stain on a pair of trousers. Marie designs the motifs, Anne-Laure conceptualises them, and, drawing on their extensive technical expertise, they call on the best craftspeople to produce the perfect result, worthy of a military insignia. Their brooches are hand-embroidered in workshops in Pakistan with a rich, centuries-old tradition of embroidery with gold and silver thread and pearls. Yes, these are real gems!
