Description
“The best-kept secret that everyone knows”. So goes the slogan of this Parisian institution, which has been a go-to on shopping trips since 1960 and sits a stone’s throw from Le Bon Marché and La Grande Epicerie de Paris.
Le Mouton à Cinq Pattes is Paris’ leading outlet store, and top dog when it comes to end-of-line clothing from designer brands.
Stocking pieces from designers such as Jean Paul Gautier, Moschino, Alaïa and Liu Jo, as well as exclusives and brand-new names at the cutting edge of fashion, turnover is fast so regular visits are a must – you’re sure to find a new gem every time.
From day and evening dresses to trousers and coats, rails groan under the weight of the clothes, and shoes, hats, scarves and belts burst out of boxes. For fashion-conscious bargain hunters, this is heaven!
For a side of culture, you might be interested to know that the store on Rue Saint Placide is easy to spot thanks to the polyester resin design on the front. The sculpture-like façade was designed by Piotr Kowalski (an architect, sculptor and mathematician) in 1960, and remains the only one of its kind not only in Paris, but in the world.
