Le Carmen
Description
Along with the Mansart, Le Dépanneur and Moloko, Le Carmen is one of the cornerstones of the golden triangle of Pigalle, the new paradise of nights in the capital city.
A former luxury brothel and popular restaurant, the sublime mansion typical of the Belle Époque was above all the home of the composer Georges Bizet where he wrote his famous opera Carmen. Today, Le Carmen is a bar/club in an old-fashioned setting that immediately transports you to a Paris from another era, while somehow remaining resolutely modern.
The ornate high ceilings, the string of small lounges, the enormous mirrors, the statues and colonnades, as well as the red velvet armchairs and sofas create an atmosphere akin to a sophisticated and intimate boudoir.
A gilded cage stands beside imposing glass chandeliers and the subdued lighting adds a scandalous air to this unusual place, where people dance and party from 6pm to 6am.
Gin takes pride of place at the bar, with no less than forty home-infused variations, from the classics (pepper, lemon, grapefruit) to the most exotic (rosemary, saffron, maté). Other delicious cocktails at affordable prices will seduce the most discerning palates, accompanied by mini burgers, mini hot dogs and mini ceviche, if you’re feeling peckish. **Perfect for a long night out. **
