Le 1905
Description
Concealed within a Paris institution named Vins des Pyrénées, which has been the haunt of artists and Parisians for over a hundred years, the 1905 is a speakeasy that’s been getting itself noticed!
Named after the year it was established, it can only be found after entering a door on the right-hand side of the façade and climbing a small flight of dark, narrow steps. You’ll then find yourself in a bar that looks like a cross between a cosy flat in 1930s England and a cabinet of curiosities.
The bric-a-brac objects, climbing plants, huge leather sofas, Oriental rugs and Art Deco lamps are an invitation, as is the terrace, to forget those noisy drinks sessions amid the hustle and bustle of Paris, without even leaving the city centre.
This prohibition-style bar serves 8 cocktails ranging from elegant classics to the original creations of Adèle Fardeau, the barmaid. You’ll love the Zelda, made with vodka, Chambord (raspberry liqueur), cranberry, homemade hibiscus syrup, lime juice, ginger beer and egg white.
The best thing of all? The affordable prices!
The 1905 is an intimate place with only enough dining space for 15 people. So don’t forget to book ahead for this truly unique experience!
