La Machine du Moulin Rouge
Description
In Pigalle, there is, on the one hand, the famous cabaret Moulin Rouge, where Toulouse-Lautrec once hung his hat, but for fans of a more electronic kind of nocturnal entertainment, on the other there is this huge, innovative, shape-shifting club.
The main venue, Le Central, is a veritable neighbourhood institution, attracting a thousand dancers every weekend with its house mixes and big
name DJ sets. You’ll also find crowd-pleasing evenings like 90s revival nights and larger-than-life karaoke projected onto a giant screen.
1,000 people on the dance floor
For those who prefer more intimate musical experiences, the Chaufferie (boiler room), in the basement, is a small, grungy, low-ceilinged club, but with a high-energy vibe and an avant-garde line-up that oscillates between alt-rock and experimental music. Somewhat surprising for a nightclub venue like the Machine is their third space, the Bar à Bulles (bubble bar), decorated like an apartment, that proposes small plates and a brunch menu. Open from noon on weekends or from 6pm during the week, its most appealing feature is the sun-filled terrace decorated with plants that gives onto the picturesque cobblestoned Cité Véron street, once home to the poet Jacques Prévert and author Boris Vian.
The time is right to discover our selection of clubbing.
