Description
La Croix d’Augas is the highlight of the legendary Fontainebleau forest. Diners are welcomed into extraordinary mountain chalet-style décor, complete with ubiquitous wood, red and white checked tablecloths, and clogs and tools hanging on the walls – it’s a totally immersive Savoyard experience!
Be it tartiflette, raclette or fondue, cheese is the star of the show here, with plenty of comfort food for warming up your winter evenings. Not forgetting the sides, of course: a platter of dry-cured ham and other delicious charcuterie.
In the summer, the huge tree-lined terrace is the perfect shady spot to get out of the sun, and behind the lodge you can find out more about the astonishing history of the Augas Cave, which is thought to have been a temple in ancient times and is now completely buried.
Warm, friendly, inviting and original, this restaurant is a great spot for enjoying time with friends and family.
