Description
Did you know that one of the exceptional perfumers of Paris Region was born from a joke? In 1976, Jean Laporte, a chemist by training, took up the challenge of creating a banana perfume to be worn with a suit of the same fruit at the Folies Bergères ball.
Inspired, he then developed a grapefruit and vanilla fragrance, followed by various original scents made from natural materials. Since then, the success of this niche perfume brand has never waned and the forty or so fragrances that make up the range have been seen around the world.
Some, like the iconic Blackberry and Musk or First Fig, have left their mark on the history of modern perfumery. Others, such as Timbuktu or Patchouli Patch, have become timeless, and have been consistently appreciated since their creation.
Created with passion and craftsmanship, each fragrance represents a different olfactory journey, imbued with the artistic flair and creative freedom of its perfumer master, while the dark, smoky glass bottles recall the mystery and allure of an apothecary's workshop.
Discover the neat and daring world of l'Artisan Parfumeur in its latest boutique in Saint-Germain des Prés, a stone's throw from the very chic Bon Marché Rive Gauche.
With light wood floors, marble worktops, miniature copper-railed gardens and black lacquered shelves, this ultra-chic cabinet of curiosity is a real invitation to the pleasure of the senses.
