Description

Too often, the Great Mosque of Paris is summed up in its famous hammam and tea room, which extends the comfort after the steam baths. However, this Hispano-Moorish style place of worship, built in the heart of the Latin Quarter after the First World War, also has sumptuous patios and remarkable prayer rooms.

Oriental architecture in the heart of Paris

33-metre high minaret, high columns, mosaics, large hand-sculpted cedar dome, giant chandelier and precious carpets… all the oriental architecture and ancestral techniques give this monument a unique atmosphere of peace and quiet.

Inside the main courtyard, let yourself be charmed by the Andalusian garden with its water fountains, waterfalls, and marble pools. Then discover the Grand Patio, whose entrance door, decorated with kufic characters reproducing verses from the Koran, is a jewel of Moroccan art.

Finish with a short tour in the souk where earthenware, brass and coloured fabrics await you. Whether you are a Muslim or not, you will be welcomed with the same attention by guides present to answer all your questions.
