Description
Sometimes the golfing green and an urban landscape can make for a perfect match. Set in the suburbs, about 10 kilometers north-east of Paris, the Golf Départemental de la Poudrerie manages the impressive feat of combining city dynamism and natural calm.
Nestled between the massive Poudrerie National Forest Park and the graffiti-lined Canal de l’Ourcq, this unique golf course opened in 2004 and offers a 9-hole compact course, easily accessible from the centre of Paris via the RER B.
From beginners to seasoned pros
Experienced golfers will enjoy the undulating valleys on the greens as well as the course’s water obstacles, while beginners can try one of the two-hour trial sessions to familiarise themselves with the course or train in one of the 45 practice bays.
Managed by the UCPA sports association, the site is ideal for those new to the sport as well as more experienced golfers looking for a fun space to practice. Whatever your age, everything is geared towards helping you perfect your technique – including individual and group courses with the centre’s teachers.
Young enthusiasts aren’t forgotten: there are classes available for 3 years and up, and longer training courses from 6 and up. Young Tiger Woods fans can aim for the stars by enrolling in the golf school, which welcomes members from 7 years and up.
