Freemasonry Museum
Description
Ah, the Masons… who hasn't wanted to delve into their secrets, and have their mysteries made clear?
A visit to the Freemasonry Museum is a chance for both experts and the uninitiated to find out more about the secret society through a selection of highly symbolic and historic objects, like the apron worn by Voltaire, the sword bearing the insignia of Lafayette, and even documents tracing the establishment of the Order in France.
In addition to the historical anecdotes you’ll hear, a tour of the museum is also a chance to see the set-up of a Masonic Hall and learn about some of the Masons’ rituals, their attire, and their initiations. As you walk through the precious collections of items either bought or loaned from top museums, you’ll also find out how these fraternal organisations have made their presence felt during – and even had an effect on – some of the most important periods in history.
