- Conservatoire National des Plantes
Description
Specializing in the conservation, management and promotion of the genetic resources of utilitarian plants, the Conservatory is simultaneously a nursery, a botanical garden, an agricultural research centre and an interpretation centre.
Round off a sense-awakening walk through the rich and varied collections of over 1500 utilitarian plants with a stroll through the Conservatory's astonishing museum.
Full of fun and stimulation, the museum, located in a former plant drying house, tells the fabulous story of plants through history, from the very beginnings of their production, to their everyday uses today. There is something for all the family!
The Conservatory aims to manage, promote and conserve the genetic resources of perfume, medicinal and aromatic plants in order to help safeguard our natural heritage; make new, improved or simply properly identified plant materials available to users to meet their needs; and allow the widest possible audience to discover the full wealth and diversity of these plants.
Join in one of the courses on offer to learn about the basics of botany, produce your own seeds or try your hand at plant-based dyeing. A full programme to help you reconnect with nature!
Discover the National Plant Conservatory through one of the treasure hunts in the Paris Region Adventures application specially designed for families and downloadable free of charge.
