Description
Are you a film buff looking for a fantastic way to tour the French capital with friends or family? Book your guided tour all year round with Ciné Balade and… Action!
Paris as a film set
The most filmed city in the world, Paris has provided both setting and inspiration for many directors. With Ciné Balade, explore the districts of the French capital to discover the key sites that have served as filming locations for more than 100 years.
Accompanied by a guide, discover Paris through the scripts and characters of films that are famous all over the world. Listen to the stories and anecdotes that have highlighted the beauty and diversity of the City of Light.
From the wide selection of walks, you might opt for a neighbourhood tour, following in the footsteps of Amélie Poulain in Montmartre, or Midnight In Paris by Woody Allen in the Latin Quarter, the young Antoine Doinel from The 400 Blows by François Truffaut around the Place de Clichy or the Eiffel Tower which features as a character in its own right in many films.
Want to share your passion with your children? The following tours for young audiences are available: The “*If Paris was told to us by the cinema*” tour invites children to take part in guided tours and treasure hunts in search of the scenery that inspired their favourite films. Children are shown photos and film clips on a digital tablet to help them match what they see with the filmed images and some tours even allow them to try out the toys that led to the invention of cinema.
To Paris and beyond!
The Parisian suburbs are also home to many places associated with the history of the seventh art, such as the Studios Pathé-Albatros de Montreuil occupied in the late 19th century by Georges Méliès. Paris Balade then takes you beyond the Parisian ring road to filming locations such as the Puces de Saint-Ouen flea market or Aubervilliers.
Looking for a personalised tour? Paris Balade can also design you a tailor-made tour including fun activities (tour of a projection booth and behind the scenes in a dark room, a film studio or even an exploration of special effects production).
In addition to in-person tours, Paris Balade offers a whole programme of virtual tours so you can listen to the guide’s stories from the comfort of your own home, whether you are in Paris or on the other side of the world.
As a little bonus for our foreign friends, some tours are also available in English. What a treat!
