Description

A unique relic of the Hundred Years’ War, the stronghold of the Viscounts of Melun, surrounded by moats, the Château de Blandy has been raised from its ruins to rediscover its original architectural panache.
With a fortified door, curtain walls, five towers and 35-metre keep, portcullis, rampart, wall walk, and living quarters… the castle has kept all the attributes of a medieval fortress.

A trip to Blandy-les-Tours is like travelling back in time. You might even run into a ghost who met a bloody end…
The bookshop offers all the information you could wish for about the Middle Ages.

Blandy-les-Tours is also a hotbed of contemporary artistic creation. Between April and October, the "Sundays in Blandy" series offers family events such as contemporary circus acts, puppet shows, dance and concerts.

In addition to these Sunday shows, there are a number of annual events: in July, the FETNAT festival celebrates the digital arts in an artistic revolution; in August, Les Créneaux de la nuit offers open-air cinema; in late October and early November, the Festival des visites insolites offers unique guided tours around the castle’s towers; and for Christmas, the Pain d’épices et papillotes festival delights children with funny and enchanting shows.

Blandy-les-Tours is a stop on the Châteaux de Seine-et-Marne tour and a neighbour to the famous Vaux-le-Vicomte.
