Description
This cycling tour can be reached by public transport and is a great way to journey back in time to the Belle Époque and the guinguette dance cafés on the banks of the Marne.
Hop onto your bike and enjoy the fresh air as you explore the tranquil landscapes for a 26-kilometre tour.
Except for a couple of bridges with steps and a small incline at the end of the trip, there’s nothing too tricky to this itinerary, which should only take you a couple of hours.
But make sure you take the time to observe the local fauna and flora. And why not stop off to visit the museum in Saint-Maur, the former Pathé film factories built by Gustave Eiffel, the Louis Daguerre diorama, the museum in Nogent or the astonishing ruins of Saint-Maur abbey (founded in 639)? And when it’s time for a break, don’t miss the famous Guinguette de l'ile du Martin Pecheur or head for Chez Gégène, both popular spots for Parisian revellers in the late 19th century!
From the islands to the marina, cycling is the best way to explore the banks of the Marne.
