Description
The Bateaux-Mouches are woven into the legend of Paris. The fleet began in 1949 when the company’s founder bought one of the last steamboats, used during the Exposition Universelle of 1900, and launched a novel concept: guided cruises down the Seine, with no stops. Since then, more than 150 million passengers have boarded a Bateaux-Mouche, which, each year, travel a distance equivalent to five times around the world! The fleet’s cruises take in the most beautiful monuments along the Seine including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie and the Musée d’Orsay, and offer a fascinating and relaxing way to explore the waterfront.
Romance, or something more festive?
Looking for an unusual restaurant right in the heart of Paris? The Bateaux-Mouches offer boats especially equipped for this purpose. All their tables offer direct views over the Seine and the magnificent monuments that line it. There are also open-air upper decks, if diners want to step outside. At midday, the boats adopt the “guinguette”-style atmosphere of the open-air cafés that once lined the Seine and the Marne, with an accordionist playing old Paris songs. In the evening, the mood turns romantic, with piano and violin accompaniments.
