Description
On a 14-kilometre walking circuit around the old town and its outskirts, discover a Unesco heritage site with city walls, medieval streets and gardens. This 3-hour 30-minute escapade will immerse you in a medieval atmosphere, visiting iconic Provins landmarks along the way.
First stop: the tithe barn Grange aux dîmes for an exhibition about the merchants of the famous “Champagne fairs”, which you can follow with an audioguide. The visit continues with the Tour César, an iconic monument that towers over the town. Inside, you will transported 8 centuries back in time into the everyday life of a keep and, to top it all off, a panoramic view of the city awaits you at the summit.
Next, head to the Musée de Provins et du provinois to admire a collection of artefacts ranging from prehistory to the 19th century. The final stop is the rose garden, where you can savour the heady scent of the famous Provins rose.
A hike that will send you travelling through time!
