- Alfred Dreyfus. Truth and justice
Description
From 13 March to 31 August 2025, plunge into the heart of one of the most significant cases in French history, revealing the complexity and determination of Alfred Dreyfus in his quest for justice.
A moving historical journey
The exhibition retraces the tumultuous life of Alfred Dreyfus, a French officer unjustly accused of treason in 1894. Through a meticulous selection of historical documents, published letters and family archives, discover the ordeals endured by Dreyfus, from his public degradation to his exile on Devil's Island. The poignant testimonies and personal writings of Dreyfus offer a unique insight into his resilience and his unceasing fight for the truth.
An exceptional setting in the heart of the Marais district of Paris
In the exceptional setting of the "Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme", explore the different facets of the Dreyfus Affair, from the caricatures of the period to the official documents and the moving letters exchanged between Dreyfus and his family. The exhibition also highlights the crucial role played by emblematic figures such as Émile Zola, whose commitment was essential in the rehabilitation of Dreyfus.
The Albert Dreyfus Museum in Médan
In parallel, the Albert Dreyfus museum in the maison Emile Zola in Médan offers a complementary perspective on this historic period. Visitors can discover Émile Zola's commitment and the impact of his famous article ‘J'accuse…!’ in the fight for justice. Zola's house, now a museum, provides a better understanding of the context of the Dreyfus Affair and the importance of defending the values of truth and justice.
