Description

For a short family hike around the countryside, head to Essonne for a walk in the Valley of La Renarde around the village of Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières.

not far from the picturesque town of Dourdan, the circuit is just over 7 kilometres long and is an easy outdoor activity taking you through small villages and across pretty landscapes.

Start from the village of Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières, where you can park your car. Admire the gothic church, a former place of pilgrimage with 13th-century stained glass windows that are definitely worth a visit.

Further along the trail, you will go through Saint-Yon - stop off here to visit the Arboretum de Segrez. This is a beautifully peaceful garden with some astonishing young specimens alongside the centuries-old trees, some of which have official “arbre remarquable” status.
