Description
Formerly a hunting ground, the Grand Parquet has hosted equestrian events for over a century in the immediate vicinity of the royal city and the Château de Fontainebleau.
It is recognised by professionals as one of the most beautiful competition grounds in Europe. With six schooling rings, a 4,000-m² spring garden, 250 stables, and grandstands with a capacity for 2,000 spectators, the Grand Parquet in Fontainebleau is the place for international competitions.
Among the most recent are the European Championship for Young Riders and the Longines FEI European Championships. In a remarkable natural setting covering 30 hectares, the Grand Parquet is also open to other sporting competitions and public events, such as the "Trail Impérial" (a trail run) and the "Journées de l’Antiquité" (antiquities markets).
