- The Broken Arm Paris
Description
It all began with a prophetically named website – Des jeunes gens modernes or "Modern Young Things" – which questioned all aspects of modern creativity: music, fashion, food, etc. In 2013, three members of the collective – Anaïs Lafarge, Romain Joste and Guillaume Steinmetz – set up this boutique-café, which aims to put creativity at the heart of everyday life.
It is hard to imagine a more contemporary space, with its minimalist décor, its ultra-healthy selection of snacks and refreshments and, above all, its lovingly **selected range¨¨ of men's and women's clothing by designers as significant as Jacquemus, Maison Margiela, Comme des Garçons, Lemaire, Isaac Reina, Affix, Stone Island and Raf Simons.
A wardrobe for “modern young things” if ever there was one! Its name, The Broken Arm, is a nod to a ready-made by Marcel Duchamp, kept at MoMA in New York. The piece, which consists of a snow shovel, is entitled "In Advance of the Broken Arm". Obviously, the managing trio believe in the virtues of pre-emption!
