West of Versailles, the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines conurbation community offers a whole panorama of cultural sites and architectural features. The history of France tells us that the area takes its name from the chapel of Saint-Quentin, now the site of the outdoor activities centre. Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is made up of 12 communes. Between Coignères and Voisins-le-Bretonneux, a whole host of activities are available. Go for a walk in the nature park, stop to see the Madeleine Castle or visit the Port-Royal des Champs Museum.

National Velodrome of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
Designed to accommodate major cycling events, the National Velodrome hosted the French track cycling championships in 2014, the world championships in 2015, the European championships in 2016, and the 2024 Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games.
But that doesn’t mean the National Velodrome is reserved exclusively for top-level cyclists. Accommodating up to 5,000 spectators, it invites enthusiasts from the public at large to come along and watch. In addition to cycling, this lively site offers other activities as well. From bike polo and airbag freestyle to badminton and kettlebells, you can make all sorts of sporting discoveries here.
National Golf Course
At Guyancourt National Golf Course, you’ll tread hot on the heels of golfing history as you play Paris Region’s most famous holes. This world-famous National Golf Club has built an unrivalled reputation with the help of its iconic Albatros course. The 139-hectare site features three courses of increasing level of difficulty, for a truly unique golfing experience. Élancourt Hill
Reaching 231 metres above sea level, Élancourt Hill in the Paris Region is the highest point in Paris Region. From the top, you can see the Eiffel Tower, a panoramic skyline of the modern La Défense district, and the woodlands extending around Paris Region. Since its creation, this hill has seen many transformations. It became an amusement park in 1980 and hosted the mountain bike competitions of the 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games in Paris. You too can go mountain biking along the same trails as the greatest Olympic athletes.
BMX stadium of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
Within the National Velodrome at Montigny-le-Bretonneux lies the BMX Stadium which sas hosted the men’s and women’s BMX Racing events for the 2024 Paris Olympics. 400 metres of undercover whoops and dips, a rarity among BMX tracks that has stopped the weather from spoiling the show. Top French athletes have trained here since the site first opened in 2015, to offer you a spectacular show. The track is here to stay, for the benefit of seasoned cyclists and novices alike.

Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park
In the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park, southwest of Paris, lies a whole open-air nature and heritage museum. Simply follow the trails to discover all sorts of magical places. Here, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, you’ll soon find yourself in a daydream. Following on from the 2024 Olympics, you can enjoy bike rides, mountain biking, horseriding, refreshing dips in the lake or even a treetop adventure in the forest of Rambouillet. Château de la Madeleine
After exploring the Regional Nature Park, stop in the hills to discover a chapter of French history. The Madeleine Castle’s fascinating architecture and fairytale gardens overlook the village of Chevreuse. This 12th-century medieval castle, a listed historical monument, invites you to explore this site with history oozing from every stone. The tour includes: the inner courtyard, the Guards’ Tower and the cellars.

Musée de Port-Royal des Champs
