The must-visit Air and Space Museum
CMany people will tell you this is where the history of Le Bourget begins. An area within the grounds of this airport in Paris Region is set aside for the museum, the biggest in France. Here, you’ll find a remarkable collection of aeroplanes and spacecraft. The museum will appeal to young and old, with activities to suit all age groups. After admiring the paintings, photographs, models and flight simulator, you can continue your tour with a visit to the restaurant, the Hélice. Extending beneath the wings of a Boeing 747, the spacious terrace offers a view of the runways. Guaranteed to make your tastebuds take off.
Hiking in the Georges-Valbon Park
In Paris Region, come and stretch your legs in this park, also known as the Courneuve Park, located between Saint-Denis and the Air & Space Museum of Le Bourget. A hiking trail reveals just how fascinating this place is. During your walk, you may even be rewarded for your efforts by a stunning view over Paris. Visit to the Mémorial de la Shoah in Drancy
A place of remembrance, this holocaust museum can be found in Drancy in the heart of Paris Region, just 3 km from Le Bourget. The permanent exhibition retraces the experience and daily lives of the French Jews who came here and explains how the camp operated. Their story is told through video accounts, archive documents and photographs. A remembrance site that pays homage to the people who were deported and murdered during the Second World War.
A walk in the wooded grounds of the Poudrerie (gunpowder factory) of Sevran
In Seine-Saint-Denis, 12 km from Le Bourget, lies the green oasis of the northeastern part of Paris Region. There are no less than 137 hectares to explore in this park. Just 12 km from Le Bourget, the town of Roissy-en-France is just as famous for its airport as its neighbour. But beyond the airport grounds, Roissy has retained its identity as an iconic town of the Pays de France region.
