Description
Located just a stone’s throw from the Château de Vincennes you’ll find the largest independent bookshop in Paris Region. Established by a literature enthusiast on the site of an old garage a little over forty years ago, Millepages bookshop is a long, narrow, two-storey building that houses a vast selection of volumes to expand anyone’s horizons.
Inside, everything is designed to stimulate visitors’ curiosity and encourage them to discover new writers or subjects to explore. Looking for inspiration? You can rely on the advice of the experienced and friendly booksellers, each of whom has their own special field, and will be able to point you in the direction of your perfect reads. Between literature, social sciences, tourism, fine art, anthropology, religion and the various other subject areas, you’re sure to find a treat for yourself or a loved one. To satisfy your need for escapism, there is a section that also offers books in English, German and Spanish.
For children, go a little further down the street where you’ll find a second site dedicated to children’s literature. There's something for everyone, from small children to teenage comic enthusiasts, not to mention a wide range of comic books and manga.
Millepages also hosts around a hundred author events each year, as well as its biannual “America” festival dedicated to American literature.
Pop in to this bookshop and you won’t leave empty-handed.
