Description
The exhibition Matisse and Marguerite. Through Her Father's Eyes at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris invites you to discover the work of the famous artist through the prism of fatherhood.
Running from 4 April to 24 August 2025, this exceptional exhibition offers an intimate insight into the relationship between one of the 20th century's most influential artistic geniuses and his eldest daughter, Marguerite Duthuit-Matisse (1894-1982).
A father-daughter relationship revealed through Art
The exhibition brings together more than 110 works**, including paintings, drawings, engravings, sculptures and ceramics, testifying to the affection and admiration that Henri Matisse (1869-1954) had for his daughter. You will discover previously unpublished works, rarely shown drawings from private collections around the world, as well as photographs and archive documents that enrich this moving evocation.
