Description
Historically located in the heart of the Marais, the unmissable LGBT bookstore has recently moved to the 11th arrondissement, not far from the fabulous Atelier des Lumières.
Literature, philosophy, essays, edited by large publishers and small independent companies, everything is carefully chosen and cleverly recommended by the bookstore's team. They will gladly order the title you are looking for if you have not found it in their extensive catalogue.
Far from communitarianism, Colette and Proust are rubbing shoulders on the shelves with Hervé Guibert or the philosopher Judith Butler. In the basement, entirely vaulted and with exposed stones, art books are displayed alongside a pretty selection of DVDs.
Extend your visit with a walk in the Marais, one of the oldest and busiest districts in the capital. At the crossroads of all cultures, its narrow, cobbled streets still exude its historical past, from Eastern European Jews to the Chinese from Wenzhou province. Today it is a mecca for art galleries and especially THE LGBT district of the capital, full of shops, bars and gay friendly clubs.
